Meet Our Healing Gardners
Donovan Richard- CEO
Donovan Richard's path to mental healthcare leadership began in an unexpected place – real estate investing. While operating group homes within his portfolio, he witnessed firsthand the critical gaps in post-hospitalization mental health care and the high rates of patient recidivism that resulted. Rather than simply observing these challenges, he took action, founding HomeRoots Wellness with his business partner to provide comprehensive outpatient mental and behavioral health services to those who need it most.
As CEO, Donovan brings a fresh perspective to mental healthcare delivery, combining innovative business approaches with compassionate care solutions. His entrepreneurial background and commitment to community wellbeing have helped HomeRoots expand from serving group home residents to supporting mental health across diverse demographics.
Donovan is a devoted husband of 11 years to his wonderful wife and father of three incredible kids. Donovan maintains his own mental wellness through reading and meditation. He regularly speaks about the transformative power of mindset work, embodying his personal motto: "Change your thoughts, change your life." His unique journey exemplifies HomeRoots Wellness's core belief: that meaningful change begins with seeing a need in your community and having the courage to address it.
Bryant Bettez- Vice President and COO
Like his business partner, Bryant Bettez’s journey to mental healthcare leadership emerged through real estate investing. While managing group homes within their portfolio, he witnessed the pressing challenges in post-hospitalization mental health care and the high rates of patient recidivism. This firsthand experience, combined with his own mental health journey as a young adult, inspired him to co-found HomeRoots Wellness, creating a solution that addresses these critical gaps in care.
As COO and Vice President, Bryant brings a dynamic, youth-focused perspective to mental healthcare delivery. His personal experience with mental health challenges as a young adult has shaped his vision for accessible, relatable care. Under his leadership, HomeRoots Wellness has developed innovative programs specifically designed to support young adults during their most formative years.
Bryant's personal motto, "Healing starts with understanding," reflects his commitment to creating mental health solutions that resonate with younger generations. His mission is to transform the mental healthcare landscape by making services more approachable and relevant to young adults. Through community outreach programs and specialized youth-focused initiatives, Bryant and the HomeRoots team are working to break down stigmas and create lasting positive change in mental health outcomes for future generations.
